The Peace School has developed peace related workshops for the classroom. In the Art for Peace program, students work with templates and write words of peace in colorful, artistic circular patterns. In the Peace Breathing workshops, students learn how deep breathing and peaceful thinking can help them concentrate, release stress and live more peacefully. Peace Exercise workshops give students a chance to improve health by stretching and toning the body while also relaxing the mind. Peaceful Self-Defense workshops teach students how to avoid confrontation whenever possible, and how to defend themselves whenever necessary.

Workshops are conducted by Peace School instructors and student teachers. In line with The Peace School’s mission to Build the Peace within our schools and communities, we offer one-time workshops free of charge when scheduling permits, and strive to offer affordable rates for more specialized or longer term classes. The Peace School also participates whenever possible in peace related events held at area schools, such as the International World Peace Days Parade at John

T. McCutcheon elementary school. For more information on the The Peace School’s Programs for Schools please call 773-248-7959.
